3 Essential Character Traits Of A Gentleman

The gentleman is said to be the personification of character and etiquette , a symbol of mannerism and grooming . But what a gentleman truly is is more than the clothes he wears . These are my 3 essential traits for every man who wishes to be a gentleman.

Essential trait #1 A gentleman is confident

Confidence is the key to a success ful man , a confident man is perceived to be a strong leader , a worthy gentleman , someone you would want to listen to and follow his lead . A confident man is never an arrogent man , a confident man is someone that is comfortable in his own skin , he lifts himself up based on his character , while an arrogent man lifts himself up based on the downfall of others . Confidence , in my opinion , is very infectious ,it is like a virus- it spreads quickly and once you got infected , it is very hard to shake it off . A man of confidence can quickly emanate a room and soon enough , the room would be inspired and be confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Essential trait #2 A gentleman is rightgeous

As men , we are often role models for the people around us , they may be our children , our co workers , anyone . A rightgeous man is a man of conduct , he is aware of his behaviours and image anywhere he goes . He puts rightgeousness on the top of his prioity list , he does what is right and not what was expected or popular . A rightgeous man sets himself to be a positive role model for all .

Essential trait #2 (ii) A gentleman stands up for the little guy.

I'm quite sure we have this person in our lives , he is the one with the funny names , the ones with the blue-black after his head got smashed into the locker by the school's "tough guy" , the ones who no one wants to talk to , the nerd , the geek , essentially the ones who was always mocked at and picked on . They may be a co-worker , a friend or a member in your family . A gentleman does not ignore the fact that someone is being bullied . He does not walk away when someone is injured . He does not tolerate bullying and the gentleman always stands on the side of the little guy. That person may not be the coolest kid in the school or the employee of the month , but a gentleman is not someone who judges the book by its cover , he may not have to pick a fight with the aggressor , but he is always there for the weak whenever he can . Do it , and that person will thank you for it.

Essential trait #3 A gentleman is does not gossip

A gentleman knows there is nothing benificial that comes out of gossiping at all . Gossiping deteriorates a person's character and his trust. Just like you would not tell a person a secret if he is going to gossip about it to everyone else . A gentleman knows the time that is spent on gossiping could be used to serve a greater good and purpose . Besides , a gentleman knows that words are irrecoverable . Once something is spoken , it can never be retrived , there is no " undo " or "rewind " in life , so he is careful about the things he says .

"Avoid gossip; in a woman it is detestable, but in a man it is utterly despicable."
